Description
Pocket bag filters trade a little height for a lot of media area. Because the pockets hang into the airflow, a 592×592 face can carry several square metres of media, which means high dust holding capacity and a pressure drop that stays low far longer than a flat panel of the same face size. That is why the medium efficiency stage in most AHUs is a bag filter rather than a panel.

F5 is a light medium stage, F7 is the common cleanroom pre-filter, and F9 approaches high efficiency. Because media area is large, bag filters typically reach their final pressure drop two to three times more slowly than a flat panel of the same face size.
