Description
Sparks entering a dust collector find a filter full of dry, finely divided fuel. Standard polyester will happily sustain a flame once lit, which is how a routine grinding operation turns into a collector fire. Flame retardant media are formulated to self-extinguish, so a spark that lodges in the pleats chars locally instead of propagating through the element.
